Educational and Academic Planning
Educational planning is an important part of student success. Students are encouraged to meet with a counselor to development a Student Educational Plan (Ed Plan) within 90 days of selecting an educational goal.
An Ed Plan outlines the courses needed to complete an educational goal within an attainable timeframe personalized for each student. It will include prerequisite courses, and major required courses. An Ed Plan will help determine which courses a student should take each semester.

General education patterns are a complete listing of approved courses that satisfy the general education requirements for an associate degree or transfer program.
Available general education patterns:
- - Option A, fulfills local degree general education requirements, not for transfer
- - Option B, fulfills the lower division general education requirements for a California State University
- - Option C, fulfills the lower division general education requirements of both the University of California and California systems
