MSJC to Recognize 34 Nursing Graduates During Nurse Pinning Ceremony

5/24/2021

Thirty-four ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ (MSJC) students earning their Associate of Science in Nursing degrees will be recognized Wednesday, May 26, during a virtual nurse pinning ceremony.

“Earning a nursing degree is a huge accomplishment by itself, but doing so during this pandemic is amazing," said Dr. Peter Zografos, MSJC Nursing Program Director. "They're resilient. It's a testament to the 34 graduates' willpower and motivation. They're going to do wonderful things for our communities."

Following graduation, all nursing graduates have the option to participate in an occupational internship with local agencies and gain hands-on experience. All previous graduates who have participated in the occupational internship program, in past years, have secured employment through their internship. Getting a job in the field of study is one of the reasons MSJC’s Allied Health & Nursing Program earns high recognition in the industry. The current NCLEX-RN pass rate of recent associate degree graduates at MSJC is 100%.

The demand for nurses continues to grow in our area and local agencies seek out MSJC nursing graduates, Zografos said.

The 34 nursing students are among 2,091 graduates earning a record-breaking 3,730 degrees and certificates from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ this academic year. A drive-through graduation celebration will be held to recognize their achievements on Thursday at the college's Menifee Valley Campus.
