MSJC will continue to hold most classes and services online through March 11

1/24/2022

Hi Eagles,

Due to current data projections from multiple health sources that show the Omicron COVID-19 variant surge is expected to peak in mid- to late February, we have determined that we will continue to hold most classes and services online through March 11. We plan to return in person to our campuses on Monday, March 14, when we also begin our late-start, 8-week spring classes.

Our delayed return to in-person instruction is part of an ongoing effort to help keep students and employees safe by minimizing the spread of the highly contagious Omicron variant. It also allows more time for faculty and students to plan ahead.

Only those programs that must have face-to-face classes to meet certain licensing or other requirements will continue on campus at this time and will follow advanced safety protocols. The bookstores and COVID-19 testing centers will remain open, but masks will continue to be mandatory indoors on our campuses.

We will continue to have a reduced crew on our campuses to perform essential duties and to maintain safety and operations.

As we all know too well at this point in the pandemic, the situation is fluid. We will continue to monitor data projections and determine the best course of action to keep our students, faculty, classified professionals and administrators safe.

I will continue to keep you notified of any changes as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your continued patience and resilience.

Be well and stay safe,

Dr. Roger Schultz
Superintendent/President
