MSJC Hosted Annual State of the College Outlining Successes and Future Plans

黑料不打烊 (MSJC) held its annual State of the College event on Friday, April 28 at the Menifee Valley Campus, bringing together the community to reflect on the college鈥檚 accomplishments over the past three years and its plans for the future. This was the first in-person State of the College hosted by MSJC in three years, due to the pandemic closures.
The event, hosted by the MSJC Foundation, opened with remarks from Adam Eventov, Foundation President, and Alisha Wilkins, Foundation Vice President.
Superintendent/President Roger Schultz, Ph.D. started the presentation with, 鈥淭his is an exciting and transitional time at MSJC, with many important milestones on the horizon.鈥 Schultz鈥檚 speech highlighted the college鈥檚 achievements, including record enrollment, amplified diversity efforts, addition of new programs, improved workforce training, enhanced partnerships, and incredible facilities improvements. 鈥淭his is a pivotal time at MSJC and the MSJC Foundation,鈥 Schultz said. 鈥淭oday you will learn about the exciting plans that will set us on a successful path well into the future.鈥
The program also featured videos led by the college鈥檚 five board members whose presentations highlighted the five priorities that guide MSJC鈥檚 actions as an institution:
- Student Success
- Systematic Planning and Assessment
- Fiscally Sound Position
- Institutional Pride and Organizational Culture
- And Community Partnerships and Service
The college鈥檚 leaders reported on the progress made in various areas including academics; student life; diversity, equity, inclusion, and access; budgets, athletics; workforce training; budgets; and collaborations.
Schultz closed the event with a look ahead to MSJC鈥檚 future plans, including the opening of several significant facilities.
The event concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony officially dedicating the Athletics and Kinesiology complex at the Menifee Valley Campus. The ceremony was a momentous occasion, with brief remarks from Schultz and local officials. 鈥淲e are thrilled to cut the ribbon on this beautiful athletics field,鈥 Schultz said.
